Welcome
at the Wildlife Moments!

Mfuwe Lodge is located in the South Luangwa National Park, about 40 minutes drive from Mfuwe International Airport. In the lodge park, just behind the entry hall a huge, old wild mango tree is standing. This tree made the lodge world famous. As the dry season nears its end, the wild mango ripens and starts dropping from the tree, elephant families come in to pick up the juicy fruits. The elephants often come through the thatched-roofed entry hall and routinely passing by the reception desk to get to the mango tree. Time to time they even stop by the curio-shop or the reception desk and curiously investigating the strange objects or the people trapped behind the desk. Truely amazing behavior from wild elephants.
